Our Story
Kalola's roots sprouted in 2001 from a pair of friends armed with some second hand candle molds and a dream of making the world a brighter place, one candle at a time. In a modest space above a furniture store on Los Angeles' famous Melrose Avenue, the two began to pour. And pour. And pour they did. As word spread about the finest candles this side of the Mississippi, orders increased and soon the two found themselves knee-deep in wax. It was time to move on to greener pastures 'cause that little space just couldn't handle the heat! So, in late 2001 Kalola moved to a proper factory in the historic manufacturing district of downtown Los Angeles where the Oompa Loompas continued making your candles one at a time for seven years strong. But alas, as time will have it - change was once again in the air! The start of 2009 brought about Kalola's greenest pastures to date and we can now be found pouring away in an even bigger and better factory tucked in amidst the fruitful farmlands of Ventura County.
